Over three days of racing, several nations stood out through both medal performances and overall depth across the programme. Germany and Poland were among the strongest teams of the regatta, especially in crew boat events, while Slovakia enjoyed an excellent home competition with numerous podium finishes across junior and U23 categories.
Germany impressed particularly in men’s and women’s K4 and C4 events, taking convincing victories in the Junior Men K4 500m and Junior Women K4 500m. Poland also showed exceptional consistency, especially in junior canoe and women’s kayak disciplines, collecting several gold and silver medals throughout the weekend.
Among the standout individual athletes of the regatta was Türkiye’s Resül Aydin, who delivered one of the strongest performances of the weekend by winning both the U23 C1 200m and U23 C1 5000m titles. Austria’s Adriana Lehaci also impressed in the women’s sprint events, taking victory in the U23 K1 200m against a very competitive final dominated by Central European athletes.
Host nation Slovakia produced several strong performances across both junior and U23 categories, highlighted by victory in the Men’s U23 K4 500m and multiple podiums in junior kayak events. The Slovak team once again demonstrated the depth of its sprint development structure on home water.
The regatta also confirmed the increasingly international character of the competition, with athletes from across Europe as well as nations such as Türkiye, Israel, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan and South Africa reaching finals and podium positions.
As in previous years, the Bratislava regatta served as an important benchmark ahead of the major international junior season, with many of these athletes now preparing for the 2026 Junior & U23 World Championships in Halifax and the European Championships in Szeged.
With strong participation, high racing standards and excellent organisation once again delivered at Zemník, Bratislava continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the premier development venues for future canoe sprint stars.
