Hungary has long been one of Europe’s and the world’s leading canoeing nations. Across several generations, the country has built a reputation based on Olympic success, international medals, strong clubs, highly respected coaches and a deep sporting culture around paddlesport.

The next generation of canoe sprint athletes is ready to take the world stage in Canada, as Halifax hosts the 2026 ICF Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships at Lake Banook from 1 to 5 July 2026

The 2026 Paddle Europe Sprint & Paracanoe Championships in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal, delivered not only outstanding racing, but also a remarkable set of historic performances.

The 2026 Paddle Europe Sprint, Paracanoe and Masters European Championships concluded in Montemor-o-Velho, with the Hungarian team once again winning the highest number of medals among all participating nations.  Portuguese star Fernando Pimenta was crowned European Champion in the last Race of the Championships.
