An all-European Men’s K2 500m World Championship final in Poznań produced three very different pieces of  history. Jacob Schopf and Max Lemke returned Germany to the top of the world for the first time since 2007, João Ribeiro and Messias Baptista extended an unprecedented Portuguese podium sequence, while Jakub Špicar and Daniel Havel delivered Czechia’s first World Championship medal in the event.

Five years after Emma Jørgensen delivered Denmark’s first Women’s K1 200m world title on home water, former K2 partner Frederikke Hauge Mørcke has followed her onto the top step of the podium – with Hungary’s Anna Lucz once again taking silver.
